These photographs are from our coppicing test site.  Nearly all the valuable timber was cut from this property around 15 years ago and many trees, mostly maple, grew back after being cut.  We are developing a plan for establishing coppice plots and cutting cycles.  The biggest trees in these photos had been cut down (and regrown) previous to the clearcutting 15 years ago.  The diameter of the biggest trees here, measuring the between the multiple trunks, is about 6 feet.
